The bees in the forest had heads full of worry. While they were hard at work, a bear stole the honey from their nest. It happened yesterday, and it wasn’t the first time! The bees didn’t like the bear’s behaviour — not at all. But what could they do about it? They couldn’t guard their nest the entire day. After all, they had a lot of work to do — they needed to fly to the blossoms and collect pollen and nectar. So they thought the most sensible thing to do would be to chat with the bear about his sweet tooth. “Let’s first go and find Oaky the elf, he’ll definitely have some good advice for us,” they decided.
Oaky was sitting under an old oak tree in the meadow, playing his panpipe. He noticed the honey bees approaching. “Hello there, bees! Judging from your faces, you’re upset — as if someone has stolen your honey!” he laughed.
“We are not in the mood for jokes,” grumbled the bees. “We need your advice.” And they told Oaky what was bothering them. “This bear is very cunning. He keeps stealing our honey. He waits until we fly off for the day to collect pollen and nectar, and then he goes and grabs our freshly made honey.”
“I’ll try to have a word with him,” Oaky promised.
“Thank you so much. We are pretty sure he’ll listen to you.” The honey bees were pleased that Oaky was willing to help them, and, feeling hopeful, they rushed back to work.
Oaky waved them goodbye and immediately went to look for the bear.
Before long, he found him basking contentedly in the sun — covered in spilt honey.
“Hello,” said Oaky, greeting the bear with a smile. “I can see…
