Pepper and Salt had found an ideal place in the plane — they were on the top tray of a food service trolley. Thanks to this, they ventured up and down the aisle of the plane during the entire flight. Whenever the smiling flight attendant delivered food and drinks to the passengers, our travellers were there. And as this intercontinental flight lasted many hours, there was a hot meal served to the passengers en route, in addition to several snacks and beverages. So they moved around a lot.
“I’m most looking forward to seeing inside the cockpit,” Pepper whispered to his friend.
Suddenly, a signal sounded. At the same time, red warning lights came on.
Pepper didn’t understand these pictograms at all. They were completely different from those on the ocean liner — there were no arrows on them. But he noticed that all the passengers had started to fasten their seat belts. “What’s going on?” Salt screeched. She was horrified.
“I don’t know exactly, but maybe some turbulence is coming — if so, it will shake us up a bit.”
And although Salt didn’t understand the word turbulence, she immediately figured out what it meant. First, the entire plane began to shake violently. The cups and plates the passengers had placed on their trays were rattling like crazy. After that, Salt had the feeling that the plane was falling headlong towards the ground, like a rotten pear from a tree. And next, the whole plane tilted to one side. Our adventurers held-on fast.
